Who We Are

About Children's Fund

Children are abused and neglected every day in San Bernardino County, where one in four children live in poverty. Many live with the simplest of unmet needs, affecting their quality of life. Founded in 1986, Children’s Fund is anon-profit organization committed to providing safety-net support to at-risk, abused, neglected, impoverished and abandoned children in our communities. As partners with the County of San Bernardino and numerous other community-based organizations, Children’s Fund has served more than 1.3 million children.

  • Nearly two times more likely to get better grades in school
  • Nearly two times more likely to plan to go to college
  • 41 percent less likely to engage in risky behaviors
  • 25 percent more likely to positively contribute to their families and communities
  1. Emergency Needs
Children’s Fund works with social workers and case managers to give emergency assistance to at-risk children, providing food, clothing, beds, shelter, transportation, medical and dental care which otherwise they would not receive.

  2. Community Outreach
Partnering with numerous community benefit organizations, Children’s Fund also coordinates special campaigns including the Celebration of Giving, a holiday gift collection campaign, winter coat, backpack, lunch box and hygiene collection programs which are distributed to children in need.

  3. Championed Projects
Children’s Fund has identified special projects that require ongoing support, such as the Children’s Fund Assessment Center. San Bernardino County’s only one-stop center is designed to reduce the trauma of child abuse victims by allowing them to tell their story only once while receiving treatment from specially-trained forensic pediatricians in a child-friendly setting. Children’s Fund also supports projects for homeless youth and opportunities for foster youth to pursue higher education.
